ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
With trepidation we select a few persons to thank in print. There are so many who have assisted in one way or another. These few, at least, deserve special mention: .
VIRGINIA GLISZINSKI, Deputy Clerk of District Court, Le Sueur County. Her responses to the many, many requests we mailed her can only be described as "beyond the call of duty". Without her helpfulness, kindness and patience this manuscript could never have been produced.
HELEN DOYLE DYKE, Her enthusiasm and encouragement made this laborious task seem worthwhile at times when it would have been easier to quit. She promptly answered the many letters full of questions which were directed to her. Most memorable was her willingness to subject herself to a taped interview which lasted through most of a flight from Minneapolis to Seattle in Dec 1975. She never once tried to "take the 5th ammendment" on a direct question.
CAROL DOYLE RUPPE, Carol accepted the difficult assignment of coordinating the collection and transmittal of the research data on the Neal Doyle family. Much of the data on that family is the result of her efforts.
Lastly, we thank many unnamed relatives plus the helpful persons at such places as the National Archives, The Minnesota Historical Society, the genealogical sections of the Stamford, Connecticut, New York City and Seattle Public Libraries. We must not forget the many Catholic Parish Priests who were so cooperative.
